How should i cut meh hair?

Hey guys.nd girls =P I have a problem! Im trying to grow my hair out long..and my hair is okay except the back! It is kinda poofy..idk i straighten it and comb it down...but the side of my head (i use two mirrors to see it) looks kinda idk..weird..like its all long near the top part right behind the crown, but near the Very bottom its really short. My idea was to cut the hair near my crown(the swirly thing near the back of your head) a little bit shorter..just so its even. Do you guys have any better ideas? If you know who andy six is, that's how im wanting to grow my hair.
