Has western society become ruled by emotions rather than logic?

We are only too happy to abandon sanity to prolong the existance of an endagered tree rat or some directionally challenged whale, pissing away millions each year trying to save everything.Some animals die out, time goes on, it's evolution. We give the benefit of the doubt to paroled criminals who shove it up our a** the moment they're alone & we tend to cuddle murderers rather than punish them. Some fool gets hurt by his own stupidity so we give him a huge payout & ban some more fun for the rest of us. You are now better off to kill a person rather than upset them, you will do less time & won't be sued for millions. Police are treated like animals when they do their job because chasing criminals who aren't the cops skin tone is now racism & arresting violent protestors gets them spat on. It would be wonderful to have everybody love each other & for everyone to be happy, but why do we change the world for anyone who gets a few tears running or can put on a sheepish look & fake it?
