Clic video game help?

I am trying to remember a game that I played on NES maybe Genesis but I really think its NES. Okay, so you play as a character, not sure if its a guy or girl who is dressed in maroon. I also feel that its a dungeon crawler again not sure. The feel of the game reminds me of Zelda, but Link is dressed in green. I have no idea here, if you can think of any game where the character is dressed in maroon and you are about the size of Link in the NES games please respond.
