How many weeks/months pregnant were you when you had your baby?

My doctor said ill almost be 10 months when i have my son, and that i'll most likely hit 42 weeks but other people say thats past due dates? I'm confused, I am eight months now, and due in October, and its very confusing to me! Medical talk,. Pfft.
